Artificial Intelligence: DigiHall, Paris-Saclay’s digital cluster, selected as a “Digital Innovation Hub”

DigiHall, the digital technology cluster within Paris-Saclay, has been selected as a digital innovation hub (DIH) by the European Commission, the Ile-de-France region announced on Thursday, March 28, 2019. DigiHall is now one of 30 DIHs chosen to be part of the European AI-DIH-EU2 network. This new DIH will bring together all the artificial intelligence players on the Paris-Saclay campus, as well as structures for promoting and creating companies (CEA-List, Systematic Paris-Region, Inria, Institut Mines-Télécom, IRT SystemX, University of Paris-Saclay, Institut polytechnique de Paris).

The DigiHall DIH’s mission is “to help companies and communities learn about artificial intelligence and its uses.” The Digital Innovation Hub program is a European initiative whose goal is to “identify two or three digital ecosystems of world-class excellence in each Member State”. “They will be allocated dedicated resources in the next Horizon Europe program (2021-2027),” the initiative states.

THE DIGIHALL PROJECT IS “AN INTEGRAL PART” OF THE REGION’S AI STRATEGY

The DigiHall project, which “is an integral part of the ‘IA 2021’ plan for the Ile-de-France region”, seeks to “promote artificial intelligence and digital technology in industry and society.” The region “hopes to make DigiHall one of the largest digital facilities in Europe.”
