  • A quantum computing platform opens at Paris-Saclay

The first tangible result of France’s national strategy on quantum technologies, launched nearly a year ago, a new quantum computing platform is set to open at the CEA DAM computing center at Paris-Saclay. With a fundraising goal of €170 million, the platform will rely on a hybrid model combining supercomputer and quantum computers to aid a community of researchers and specialists working on R&D and emerging use cases. Aiming to strengthen the French ecosystem in quantum computing, which includes Pasqal, Quandela and Alice & Bob, the platform will also reach out to startups and companies from the international community.

  • Pasqal merges with Dutch Qu&Co to create quantum giant

As quantum computing rapidly sparks interest and investments from top companies like Johnson & Johnson, LG, Airbus, BMW, EDF and Thales, French quantum computing startup Pasqal has announced its merger with Dutch counterpart Qu&Co, with the goal of creating a European giant in quantum computing. While the new company will remain headquartered in France, Qu&Co brings software, algorithms, technology and a portfolio of top clients that will help Pasqal and its neutral-atom technology in the race for quantum supremacy.

  • IBM inaugurates an AI research center at Paris-Saclay

Tech giant IBM has taken a new step forward in its commitment to Artificial Intelligence by opening a new co-innovation and research center on the Paris-Saclay campus. Inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Cedric O, French Secretary of State in charge of the Digital Transition, the 6,000 m2 center will employ up to 350 researchers, designers and developers working on AI topics, while benefiting from annual investments of up to €6 million to remain at the cutting-edge of AI technology. Building on a partnership with the Insitut Pasteur, the new research center will focus initially on medical imaging to facilitate cancer analysis, as well as environmental issues with data collected by an automated research boat.

  • IncubAlliance moves to the Paris-Saclay Playground

On January 3rd, IncubAlliance moved to its new home in the Paris-Saclay Playground! A symbol of innovation and entrepreneurship at Paris-Saclay, the Playground opened its doors last September, combining flexible hosting solutions with dedicated support for startups across 6,000 m2 spread over 6 floors, including 700 workstations, a technology showroom and 10 incubation, acceleration and event programs. After more than a decade in Orsay, IncubAlliance is eager to write a new page in its history at this emblematic new location.
