The Fujitsu artificial intelligence center of excellence in Paris-Saclay extends its activities to Europe

As part of the AI for Humanity Summit hosted by the President French Republic on March 29, Benjamin Revcolevschi, the Managing Director of Fujitsu France, confirmed to Frédérique Vidal, the French Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, that the Fujitsu group was looking to strengthen its presence in France.

The Fujitsu group has decided to extend the activities of its artificial intelligence center of excellence on the campus of the Ecole Polytechnique at Paris Saclay to European companies. The aim is for this center to work closely with the Fujitsu 4.0 industry center in Germany, to take part in European academic projects and to lead collaborations with companies on artificial intelligence projects (30 projects in progress). In 2017 Fujitsu had already announced an investment of 50 million euros over 5 years in France.

Frédérique Vidal was delighted with this announcement: “I welcome Fujitsu’s decision to extend its activity and provide a European dimension to its Artificial Intelligence center of excellence, based in Paris-Saclay within the campus of the Ecole Polytechnique. This new mark of trust in our country’s attractiveness and in our higher education and scientific research institutions comes from a Group known throughout the world for its research and development activity in the digital and IT sectors. It constitutes recognition for the excellence of our research and our training, and consolidates France’s position as European leader in artificial intelligence”.

Benjamin Revcolevschi, the Managing Director of Fujitsu France, declared: “For Fujitsu, France is a strategic country in terms of innovation, firstly thanks to the excellence of its higher education and research institutions, and secondly thanks to the dynamic nature of its innovation ecosystem. This is a new stage in the development strategy of Fujitsu in France, with the extension of our center’s activities. We are proud that the full diversity of the French ecosystem in terms of Artificial Intelligence is now available to our European teams. We are determined that our teams shall contribute to the Fujitsu project of developing AI focused on the Human aspect, working to transform our companies”.
