Faced with the excessive demand for meat products, Ÿnsect revolutionised protein production by developing insect breeding for animal feed and organic fertilisers. With innovations that make it possible to breed insects on a large scale, the start-up intends to meet the quantitative and qualitative needs of the world’s food chains. Based at Génopole, the company is contributing to research with the inauguration of the world’s largest private R&D centre in this sector.

Among the alternative proteins, Ÿnsect has selected a beetle, the molitor, for
create a patented production process. An alternative solution to chemical fertilizers that significantly increases yields and contributes to improved health.

To further develop its range, co-founder Antoine Hubert announced in early October that his company had raised $372 million in funds. This capital will enable Ÿnsect to finalise the construction of the world’s largest insect farm with a carbon-negative project.
