Exploring the innovative community at Paris-Saclay Invest

Last June 27th, Paris-Saclay invited entrepreneurs, researchers, investors and all those interested in innovation, to the ninth edition of Paris-Saclay Invest.

This edition hit records with over 900 visitors. No less than 1,500 meetings were held during this dazzling business convention. Beyond figures, success could also be measured by the high-quality discussions, the numerous networking opportunities, and the visitors’ many unexpected finds and surprises at the Innovation Showroom and during the Pitch Contest.

An open & hybrid community

Proof was once again given that Paris-Saclay means much more than just projects. It is, indeed, the name of a rich community made of people from diverse professional, academic and geographical backgrounds: students, researchers, investors, entrepreneurs or local officials, all happy to gather for an inspiring moment, all sharing a common thirst for innovation and quenching it at Paris-Saclay Invest.

On that day, innovation in all disciplines and industries – health, food, energy, transportation, smart manufacturing…- sparkled around at the EDF Lab, home of the group’s R&D activities, which hosted the event.

Of course, the numerous start-ups attending the pitch contest and innovation showroom drew all the attention of the visitors. More than 140 entered the selection process to perform a demo of their prototypes or stand among the Pitch Contest finalists. The final ranking was particularly tough to establish as the creativity, the social and environmental values of all the innovations and products – not mentioning the entrepreneurs’ strength of conviction – were high.
